Origin: The origins of this plant in the wild is West Africa.
Maximum Size: The usual maximum size for these plants is about 12' tall, but they can grow even larger if kept in excellent water quality and good lighting.
Compatibility: Some recommended tank mates include any community fish, most Cichlids will tear up plant leaves, and uproot them.

Temperature: These plants like temperatures that range from 70 to 80-degrees F.
Water Conditions: These plants like water that ranges 70 to 320 ppm of dissolved minerals.

Aquarium Size: These plants can be in any size aquarium, but for the best health of the plant an aquarium of at least 20-gallons is best suited for this plant.
Decor: Live Plants don't need gravel, unless planning to root the plant, they will need no more than 1/4" of gravel. Instead they can be planted with gravel inside a terra cotta pot or in a piece of driftwood.

Aquarium Filter: Bio-Wheel Filters are highly recommended in most aquariums but will remove excess CO2 from the aquarium water, which is not ideal for plants.
A Penguin 100B Filter in an aquarium with 10 to 30-gallons of water is OK, and a Penguin 200B Filter is OK for an aquarium with 20 to 30-gallons of water.
