Comments: This is a Premium Pet Fish, and we never see Premium Danios like these in any of the live fish stores or the online stores that we visit.
Premium Pet Fish are more energetic, hardier, and have brighter colors with a beautiful metallic sheen.

Origin: This fish's ancestors probably lived in the Brahmaputra River in Bangladesh, which is a very large river that drains a very large area.
But the fish we have were born and raised on a famous fish farm.
This fish is a relatively new and rare aquarium fish.
Maximum Size: The maximum size of these fish in an aquarium is usually around 3" to 3.5" long, including its tail.
But almost all types of fish continue to grow throughout their entire lives, so it's possible that an old fish may occasionally grow to be unusually large.

Temperature: This fish can live pretty well from about 64 to 80 degrees F., but they're probably most comfortable at about 75 degrees F.Click here to learn about aquarium temperature, aquarium thermometers, and aquarium heaters.
Feeding: Premium Fish Food Flakes, when they're small, then small pellets, when they've grown a bit, and finally medium-sized pellets, when they're large.Click here to learn more about and shop online for premium fish foods.
Water Conditions: This fish seems to be tolerant of a wide range of water conditions. Probably a pH of about 7 with moderate hardness is best. Most water in the US has a higher pH and is harder but seems to be OK, so it's probably best NOT to adjust the pH or the hardness of the water.
Here in our facilities the water is hard and the pH is usually about 7.8. We ship them in this water.
Click here for a lot more information about aquarium water conditions.
Aquarium Size: It's probably best to house these fish in at least a 30-gallon aquarium, when they're small, but bigger is better. When they've grown to be 3" long, they'll need to live in an aquarium with at least 50-gallons of water.
Decor: They don't need gravel, and a layer of gravel more than 1/4" thick will usually fill with bits of uneaten food that will contaminate the water.

Variations: We haven't seen any yet.
