Origin: This Catfish was caught in the India, and it also is found in Bangladesh.
Now it lives in aquariums all over the world.
Maximum Size: This Catfish can grow to be about 1.2" long, including their tail, which makes this a nice size catfish for nano aquariums.
If there is food to be eaten, they become very active looking for it.
Behaviors: This is a delightful small catfish that does very well with other small fish.
It is not nocturnal as some other sources state. It moves around the bottom of the aquarium all day looking for food.
Compatibility: Some recommended tank mates include other small nano-fish.

Temperature: They live well from about 65 to 75 degrees F., but they're probably most comfortable at about 72 degrees F.

Feeding: Premium Crushed Fish Food Flakes when very small and Very Small Premium Pellet Food when larger.
Also eats small live foods like worms and brine shrimp, plus crushed freeze dried bloodworms.

Water Conditions: This Catfish seems to be tolerant of a wide range of water conditions.
Probably a pH of about 6.5 with moderate hardness is best.

Breeding: There have been some reports of spawning this catfish in an aquarium. But we do not know any of the details.
Popularity: This Catfish is rare in the aquarium hobby, but it is a very good aquarium fish and should become more popular.
Names: The scientific name is Hara jerdoni.
Variations: This Catfish lives across a wide range in India and Bangladesh, and their markings vary geographically.
