Above: Shown in the picture above is a young premium quality Tenellus BlueEyes.
These fish are members of the genus Pseudomugil, which are small fish that are very much schooling fish.
Comments: This is a Premium Pet Fish, and we never see Premium BlueEyes like these in any of the live fish stores or online stores that we visit.
Premium Pet Fish are more energetic, hardier, and have brighter colors with a beautiful metallic sheen.

Origin: These BlueEyes are being raised on a famous fish farm. Their ancestors originally lived in northern Australia, New Guinea, and some nearby islands, but now they live in aquariums throughout most of the world.
Maximum Size: In aquariums, male Tenellus BlueEyes can grow to be about 2.25" long, including their tails. Females are usually smaller and plumper when mature.
Sometimes very old Tenellus BlueEyes are even bigger. Sometimes quite a bit bigger.
Behaviors: Tenellus BlueEyes are active swimmers and are rarely aggressive.
Compatibility: Some recommended tank mates include, other smallish fish like Guppies, Neon Tetras, Cory Catfish, White Clouds, Zebra Danios and many other small size aquarium fish.

Temperature: These BlueEyes can live pretty well from about 65 to 80 degrees F., but they're probably most comfortable at about 75-85 degrees.

Most water in the US has a higher pH and is harder but seems to be OK, so it's probably best NOT to adjust the pH or the hardness of the water.
Here in our facilities the water is hard and the pH is usually about 7.8.
We ship them in this water.

Aquarium Size: It is probably best to house this fish in at least a 20-gallon tank, but more is better. Keep at most one Rainbowfish per 2-gallons.
Decor: BlueEyes do not need gravel, and a layer of gravel more than 1/4" thick will usually fill with bits of uneaten food that will contaminate the water.

Live Plants are beautiful and improve the water quality.
Aquarium Filter: Bio-Wheel Filters are highly recommended.DrTom - 08/31/2015
