Comments: This is a premium quality Live Plant Bulb that can be hard to find, but we have a big selection of Premium Live Plants on our website to choose from.
The bulb in the picture, just above, has begun to sprout with a few leaves, but most of the bulbs we ship are just bulbs that have not sprouted.
But put them in your aquarium and they will soon sprout.
Origin: Originally this plant species was discovered in areas of Africa and Southeast Asia.
But this plant was raised on a famous aquarium plant farm, and now it's found growing in aquariums all over the world.
Maximum Size: The maximum size for this plant is more than 24" tall.
Here's a valuable tip! This plant regularly sends stalks up to the surfacethat will soon have a blossom on the end.If it blossoms, this plant will die-back. But you can avoid this die-back by trimming off the stalk, before it blossoms.
By the way many people enjoy the smell of the blossoms and don't want to trim the stalks, before they blossom.Temperature: This plant like temperatures that range from 70 to 80+ degrees F.
Generally we don't recommend temperatures above 80-degrees F. in aquariums, because the oxygen level begins to drop rapidly above 80-degrees, and this is not good for most fish.
However this plant seems to tolerate temperatures above 80-degrees F.
Water Conditions: This plant likes water with a pH of 6 to 7.5 with mild hardness. Most water in the U.S. has a higher pH and is harder but seems to be OK.On the other hand I've seen this plant doing very well in an aquarium with 100% RO-water, which probably has a pH of 6 to 6.5 and almost no hardness.
Click here for a lot more information about aquarium water conditions. On the other hand it can be trimmed back to fit a shallower aquarium or allowed to grow to be very large.
Decor: we've found that it's best to just drop this plant onto the aquarium substratum and let it root naturally. But plants usually do better without a Bio-Wheel Filter, because Bio-Wheels quickly remove CO2 from the water, and plants need CO2.
The addition of Lava Rocks will keep nitrates in the ideal range for fish, which is not too low for plants.

It's appearance also seems to vary with the intensity of the aquarium lighting.
